Tee Time

While there is no doubt that I am a better cart driver than golfer, I have always enjoyed the sport. Perhaps it's because golf reminds me of vacation or maybe it's the good memories of tournaments I've attended over the years...could even be the "golf parties" I enjoyed in college or even just the attire in general. Somehow I do not think the fondness comes from my summer of being the only girl in golf camp (I was too young to appreciate that opportunity at the time!)

When a friend requested golf cookies for her son's second birthday party, I was happy for a new challenge. Navy and green were the party colors with argyle, stripes, dots and flags all making appearances in the decor. In the end we both loved the golf tees the best.

Thank you Carey!

Princess, Fashion & Fresh Beat Band

A few photos from recent collections...

Princess cookies for one of my favorite little girl's third birthday.

Logo cookies for CR Fashion Book:

And finally Fresh Beat Band cookies for this family's big fifth birthday party. I wish Laura could come photograph my cookies every day but I will settle for that adorable birthday girl photo!

Thank you ladies!

Gender Reveal Party Cookies

Last week I had the honor of making cookies for a friend's Gender Reveal Party. The mom-to-be requested baby carriages to match her invitation in addition to classic stork cookies. For the storks, I referred to this book for inspiration and free-handed from there. They ended up being among my favorite cookies I've made.

The big reveal took place at the party so we went with both pink and blue for the cookies...

Thank you fpr having me be a part of your special day JoLaine!

Tailgate Desserts

My beloved Hokies came to the D.C. area for a game last week. With a half hour drive separating us from the game instead of the four hours between home and Blacksburg, you better believe we had to go cheer them on in person! I woke up early Saturday morning in the game day spirit and decided to bake a few Virginia Tech-themed treats to bring along.

I used the sugar cookie recipe here and the red velvet brownie recipe here. Add a little food coloring and you can have customized desserts for your team or occasion.

And although I have now seen my Hokies play at this location three times and left all three times defeated, it didn't stop me from enjoying my time with everyone.

GO HOKIES!

Cupcakes, Bumblebees & Preppy Football

Eclectic title, right? I have come to the conclusion that if I ever want to blog about the months worth of cookies I still have to show you, I am going to have to combine different cookie collections into one post. Maybe weekly recaps would help me? Who knows. In the meantime, I will share a few of my favorites from last week.

Cupcakes and chevron for a friend's sister who could use a smile right now:

Bumble bee cookies done to match a party invitation for little Lucy (love that I did her first birthday cookies too!)

And finally UNC football/sorority cookies for a reunion weekend the uber-talented party planner "Southern Vogue" was enjoying with her college friends.

Thank you Anna and Melissa!
