Current Addiction: DOWNTON ABBEY!

I've heard the chatter about Downton Abbey for a couple of years. I even downloaded season one to entertain me on my fourteen hour flight over the summer and failed to watch one minute. It wasn't until a Friday night at home two weeks ago when our beloved Dateline (nerds!) was a rerun that I asked my husband if he wanted to try watching episode one of Downton. One episode turned into two and after a season two marathon of sorts yesterday we are just about on to season three.



WHY have I not been watching until now? I am willing to go as far as to say that is is my favorite series I have ever watched. Well-written, humorous, sad, engaging - it's all there. I got so into it yesterday I even proposed a trip to Hampshire, England to see Highclere Castle in person. (Not kidding.)



Sadly I saw some spoilers on Facebook this morning and while I am not happy about what I saw, it will not stop me from watching.

Here's to my watching more TV in the past two weeks than I have in the past six months combined!

    We just finished season one! But my parents were in town last night and we had to watch the season finale for them. Definitely a bit of a spoiler, but i'll still watch... My mom asked when you are going to make Downton Abby cookies! hahah

    Me! Me! Me! I just started season 3 and needless to say I barely made it to work this evening LOL! Totally in love with this show :)

    Hubby and I are addicted, it's his favorite show right now. Bought all three DVDs from PBS and we watched the finale on Friday night so we wouldn't be wrecked for work this Monday morning. Such a great show! So glad you've "discovered" it too. Another fun Downton goodie is the podcast "Up Yours Downstairs" by a husband and wife team recounting each episode. I listen to it while I work in my art studio while the kids are at school (not for small ears!)

    I've been addicted since season 1, when no one was watching. But love it more now that lots of people watch. It's so much more fun when I can talk about it. Endlessly.

    Don't let knowing the last plot twist stop you. There was sooo much in that episode, just like every episode.

    I just wish the season was longer. Why so short, BBC?!

    I was addicted too. I watched all 3 seasons in like 2 weeks. Now, I am re-watching them with Dave and I am getting SO much more out of it the second time around. Like you, it might be my favorite series ever.
